Runway Fawnway: Marc Jacobs Inspiration

Marc Jacobs' Fall 2011 RTW collection inspired me to mix tiny and large polka dot prints to create this look.  I incorporated the lace blouse to add femininity and the candy coated clutch and lips to add a bit of kink.

My favorite runway looks from the show....
Sex pot pencil skirts paired with lady like blouses, all decked in polka dots.... I love that he uses both patent leather and lace in this collection.  Two very different tools of seduction that have the ability to achieve the same effect.

Beauty Note

On the eyes I used Too Faced Naked Eye shadow palette.  I also have their Natural Eye palette that's equally amazing.  They have shimmering shades that are neutral and perfect for everyday wear and darker, sexier colors for nighttime looks.  An added bonus, especially for clumsy girls like me, is they come in a cardboard case that won't break and protects shadows if dropped.  Maybe I'm the only one with this problem, but i am constantly knocking over my eye shadows.  Problem solved! Available at  Urban Outfitters for $35.

I used Revlon's Just Bitten lip stain in Flame. It had amazing staying power and still managed to feel soft and supple on my lips.  The balm that is included adds a bit of shine and keeps my lips moisturized. Available at Target for $7.99.

One Last Frolic on Snow Covered Trails...

Forever 21 scarf, Free People belt, H&M skirt, BCBG Max Azria elbow length gloves and ring, Anthropologie wallet,
Hue tights, Oh Deer shoes

All dressed up and no where to go?  Just take a stroll on your nearest ice slicked bridge...in heels. GASP! Perhaps its not the ideal location to prance around in pumps and play dress up, but it was such a lovely spot that I couldn't resist.  The mystery of wondering who trotted along that bridge and left foot prints behind, inspired me to leave a few of my own.

I was coveting elbow length gloves for a long time, when last year I received them as a gift from my clever boyfriend. They are now a staple in my winter wardrobe and I did not leave the house without them all season.  He is well aware of my love affair with BCBG so the ring was part of my Xmas gift this year. Kudos to Darren!

I've had the pumps for a while now and couldn't remember where I got them from. I knew I had the box tucked deep in my overflowing closet so I began my quest.  When I finally uncovered the box, to my surprise and delight, I found out the brand is called Oh Deer!  How fitting? The neutral base of the heel allows me to wear it with almost anything, while the silvery toe gives it just enough glam for me to dress it up. They are so comfy because of the thicker heel so I wear them whenever I want to dance all night...or explore the tundra on a bridge :)

Diane Kruger in Glamour!!!

I was so psyched to see my ultimate fashion icon on the cover of Glamour's March issue!!  Her style is regal and sophisticated, but even when she chooses avant-garde or edgy pieces, she always nails the look.  Diane Kruger never ceases to inspire me with her breathtaking and effortless style. Adore her!

In like a lion, out like a lamb.

Blazer, belt, and booties by Anthropologie. Vintage skirt, Bebe halter, Free People ring, handmade charm bracelets.

I am so thrilled to be sharing this outfit on my very first posting! My favorite elements of this look are in the details...ruffled trim on the booties, mother of pearl iridescence on the buttons of the skirt, the exaggerated shoulder of the blazer.

When I found the printed skirt tucked away in the back of my mother's closet, I immediately began to brainstorm how to make it work without looking frumpy. It was the perfect starting point for me to explore the Spring 2011 RTW trend that caught my eye while perusing style.com. The "midi" length skirt was seen all over the runways back in September and I couldn't bare to wait for all this East Coast snow to melt before I tried the trend out for myself. So I braved the cold, sans tights and coat, and prayed for the return of spring while I shot this look. I must admit I cheated and had to hike up the overflowing skirt a bit to create the mid calf hemline, but not everyone can be blessed with the AH-Mazing "midi" looks off the runway.

Here are some of my faves...
